Sobering news for Bond fans worldwide today as EON productions made a statement to the presses that production on the 23rd James Bond film would be halted indefinitely, until MGM Studios is in a position to finance the film.
007 producers, Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli of EON Productions, today announced they have suspended development on the next James Bond film previously scheduled for release 2011/2012.
“Due to the continuing uncertainty surrounding the future of MGM and the failure to close a sale of the studio, we have suspended development on ‘Bond 23′ indefinitely. We do not know when development will resume and do not have a date for the release of ‘Bond 23,’” stated Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli jointly.
EON Productions have produced twenty two James Bond films since 1962. In 1995, Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli took over the 007 franchise from Albert R ‘Cubby’ Broccoli and are responsible for producing some of the most successful James Bond films ever, including Casino Royale and more recently Quantum of Solace.
The James Bond franchise is the longest running in film history. EON Productions and Danjaq LLC are affiliate companies and control all worldwide merchandising for James Bond.
As ever, Bond23.net will continue to serve the community and remains proud to be a hub for followers of the new James Bond film’s rocky road to production.

well that was almost inevitable given the amount of trouble MGM seems to be in.

I am a HUGE JAMES BOND “DIEHARD”.
I have EVRYTHING – ALL BOND FILMS, SOUNDTRACKS, ALL NOVELS of Ian Fleming, John Gardner, Raymond Benson, Robert Markham.
As for the TITLE OF THE NEW JAMES BOND MOVIE,
The only titles that are left of Ian Fleming are:
THE PROPERTY OF A LADY, RISICO, THE HILDEBRAND RARITY, 007 IN NEW YORK…..
Why not make a BOND FILM based upon JOHN GARDNERS JAMES BOND BOOKS???
Another possible BOND TITLE is THE KILLING ZONE by James Hatfeild. The book NO LONGER EXISTS but to actually have the book that was printed in 1985 would be the HOLY GRAIL / MONA LISA of JAMES BOND BOOKS.

I hope they don’t bother with 007 in New York, not nearly catchy enough. They had a lot of trouble marketing Quantum of Solace (because of the name if you ask me) so I think RISICO, THE HILDEBRAND RARITY are both out.

I hope that the new Bond film will be better than Quantum of Solace.
If I got well the news, Quantum Solace cost 230 millions $ and had the lowest return rate, this was a robbery to the producers. The quality and the direction have nothing to do with Bond films, it is more like any other violent cheap film, too fast paced and almost impossible to follow.
Daniel Craig is missing the elegance and little fun that all the other actors had and made Bon unique.
Bond must come back to intrigue, English flair and elegance, otherwise I’m afraid that Bond will die in the hands of incompetent directors ( at least incompetent on developing a true bond films that have been so successful for many years )
So let’s hope that Bond 23 will be a real Bond

As a fan of 007 since Ian created it way back when, and enjoyed everything and everyone that has been involved in the making of Bond. I now have a concern.. Daniel Craig as Bond *(Excellent) the story lines for Bond today, are I feel very week…
My suggestion for the next James Bond…
Title: LONDON CALLING!!
Yes, get approval to use London calling by The Clash…
Start a whole new approach, M must risk all the 00 numbers to save the world, but only 007 has the deepth to do what Her Magesty’s Goverment Requires.
