Today MGM’s proposal for pre-packed bankruptcy was approved by a federal court.
“Today’s ruling is an important milestone for MGM,” said Co-Chief Executive Officer Stephen Cooper. “Thanks to the support of our lenders and the hard work of our employees, we have moved through the restructuring process quickly. By dramatically reducing MGM’s debt load and providing MGM with access to new capital, the reorganization plan the Court confirmed today will enable MGM to emerge from this process with a solid financial foundation and will position MGM to be a successful studio going forward.”
MGM expects the Plan to become effective by mid-December, once the conditions of effectiveness have been met.
Regular 007 music man, David Arnold has confirmed that plans are afoot in relation to James Bond 23.
Speaking to Film Music Magazine, Arnold said that they “just got the news that we’re back on.” Nonetheless the composer is keeping defiantly scilent, saying he “will keep quiet until I get a script and then start writing ideas.”
David Arnold, a lifelong Bond fan, prior to writing the music, stated: “I’m looking forward to a great script for it, alongside every other Bond fan in the world!”

Yes – it is a long time but there was nothing one or 10 people could do about the situation. 2012 is not too far off. We have a book coming in the middle of the year, 2012 is promised to be a Bond heavy year… Hang in there.

I hope that the movie will have a classic gunbarrel. Hated the thing they did in Quantum Of Solace.
I hope for a decent plot this time. Since GoldenEye there´s been a tendency: Good bad, Good bad, good bad.
GoldenEye – Awesome
Tomorrow Never Dies – Bad to the bone
The World is Not Enough – Very nice indeed…
Die Another Day – Worst Bond movie since Moonraker (The first half was actually quite awesome)
Casino Royale – Despite a lousy score and two or three Rambo moments not apropriate for a Bondfilm, it was totally awesome…
Quantum Of Solace: Weakest storyline since Tomorrow Never Dies…
This means that the next Bond movie will be very good right…? I hope it will be great.
I hope for a fantastic Barry-like score, instead of the minimalistic crap composed for the two previous ones.
I hope and prey that there will be some nice Ian Flemings moments… There is a lot of stuff in stories like, The Man With The Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, The Hildebrand Rarity, From A View To A Kill and Live and let Die, that are yet to be used… What about the ninja castle thing at the end of You only live twice…? Of course they can´t use the amnesia thing without being compared to what they did in Bourne.
I´ll hope to see Major Boothroyd and Moneypenny but Q doesn´t have to be cheasy. A few gadgets would be nice but don´t overdo it. Keep it down to earth. I hope to see a more Timothy Dalton like approach. I think Daniel Craig would be up for it… No invisible cars or space adventures…. But maybe an explosive pen I don´t know… That´s somewhat realistic… The thing about the gadgets of the Aston Martin in Goldfinger is that the equipment wasn´t too high tech… It worked and it is still bloody awesome…
I hope for a dark and serious movie with great action scenes, a great plot and some women that actually drive the story… Like in the old days. In the last couple of movies, the women have been agents working alongside Bond… Not really a part of the story… I hope that will change… No female agents this time. Give me cellist, a personal pilot, i cypher clerkm a kept mistress, a smuggler whatever… Something that makes sense to the story.
Look at Licence To Kill, The Living Daylights and From Russia With Love for inspiration.
Please don´t make a pop cast. Don´t cast someone because they achieved fame for something else… Cast them because they fit in. Haven´t really seen a truly awesome Bond cast since The World Is Not Enough…
I´d like to see Bond smoke cigarettes like in the books. We haven´t seen that since Licence To Kill. Make him as dirty and politically incorrect as possible. He hasn´t slapped a woman for a long time. Not that I think it is nice to do and I certainly don´t support violoence on women but Bond is NOT a nice guy…
And no “Going on revenge” this time. Fucking sick of all that revenge stuff. Bond gets a job and he solves the problem. Look at the old movies or find some other personal motivations… Look at Dalton and The Living Daylights. How he talks about M in the beginning “If he fires me I´ll thank him for it…” but he doesn´t. Bond gets the job done… That´s it and it simply makes damn good movies…. As simple is that.
I´d like to hear a decent theme song with big band… Am I alone here…?
What I liked back in the old days was that the directors of the Bonds weren´t very famous… Where did all the Lee Tamahori´s and Marc Forster´s and Sam Mendes´come from…? Maybe Mendes can pull it off but he has to be tight and read the books before he says “Action!” But Michael Apted should be allowed to try again. He also cared for the music… Maybe that is why The World Is Not Enough is the best of David Arnolds Bond scores…
Maybe catch up with the old storyline. The death of tracy and the damages done to Felix Leiter… Would like to see a blond Leiter with a hook… No more Jeffrey Wright… He was good but he was not Felix Leiter. Still looking forward to see a male M again but doesn´t seem like that´s going to happen anytime soon… Dear dear…. But Dench is doing good so I guess that´ll have to do…
Broccoli and Wilson… You have a lot of expectations to live up to… But keep up the good work.
I´m looking forward to watching this movie. In the dark of the cinema, you´ll find me on the best seat.
That´s for sure.
