The James Bond news website, MI6 has unearthed a fantastic interview from back in February 2011 with Tariq Anwar, the famed Indian editor whose work includes American Beauty and The King’s Speech.

In the interview it was apparently offered up voluntarily by Anwar that he would be cutting Bond 23.

“Sam Mendes asked me if I would be interested in doing Bond. That would be something different,” the editor is quoted to say.

“I will do Bond,” Anwar said.

The first major announcement from EON Productions and Sony Pictures came on 3rd November 2011 in London when the principle cast was announced, along with a rough plot line. In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
