The Swedish press claim to have a tip on one of their locals appearing in Bond 23.
Expressen reports that local star Ola Rapace has been turning down jobs to make room for a top secret, big budget, English language film. The paper assumes this to be Bond 23 – helmed by Sam Mendes and staring Daniel Craig.
MI6 notes the remote connection that the actors ex-wife, Noomi Rapace, played Lisbeth Salander in the original Swedish film adaptation of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo – an English language remake starring Daniel Craig is currently in production.
Also in the news this week is two-time Felix Leiter, Jeffery Wright, who told Coming Soon that he was yet to hear if he will be back in Bond 23. Wright has developed quite a fan following in the course of his two films and any move to write him out may lead to disappointed viewers – particularly after Craig teased us with news this Bond film was going to be a ‘Classic’ flick.

MGM and Sony Pictures Entertainment in a joint statement on 2nd June 2011 announced that “Bond 23″ will go on release in the UK on Friday, 26th October, 2012 and in the USA on 9th November 2012. The first major announcement from EON Productions and Sony Pictures came on 3rd November 2011 in London when the principle cast was announced, along with a rough plot line. In Skyfall, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

A classic gunbarrel would be nice.
I liked a lot of things in the two Craig movies but all the Rambo stuff we witnessed in the Brosnan movies still haven`t disappeared. The ending of Quantum Of Solace was totally rediculous. Everything doesn´t have to blow up. That is just cheasy.
Don´t like the term”Classic flick…” What is that…? We`ve had six different actors and more than six different approaches to the role so I don`t get that at all.
I hope to be able to recognise a lot of cool scenes from the books. Not a lot of brainless action. I´d like to see some Bond women with depth.
Look back in the past at the films that really worked. Movies like: From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, On Her Majesty´s Secret Service, For Your Eyes Only, The Living Daylights, Licence To Kill and GoldenEye. Those are the best movies from the past. I liked the 80´s with all the Ian Fleming-elements that were inserted into the scripts. Licence To Kill really was a MASTERPIECE and maybe the best Bond movie since From Russia With Love. LTK had a very good story and included a lot of cool elements from Casino Royale, Live And Let Die, The Hildebrand Rarity, Diamonds Are Forever, The man with the golden gun and so on. What an amazing script for a movie… What an amazing performance by Timothy Dalton…? I think the producers should look more in that direction. Craig is up for the dark approach… Now he just needs a brain so he doesn´t run into embassies and starts to blow it all up or runs into a hotel in the middle of the Bolivian desert, that is heavily guarded and starts to shoot at anything that moves. That seems like something Brosnan would have done…
So what did Casino Royale really need to be a masterpiece…? A decent score… Get away from the whole minimalistic thing and back to old style. I know John Barry is gone for good but David Arnold has done some really nice scores for “The World Is Not Enough” and “Die Another Day” in particular. Give us more of that but not a theme song as bad as Die Another Day.
I loved Surrender for Tomorrow Never Dies. What a masterpiece. Best Arnold song ever. Also loved the Play Dead song with Björk. Arnold has the talent but he is limited by directors without any taste in music… Maybe that is why The World Is Not Enough was so awesome song wise and score wise. Michael Apted really cared for the score. The movie is also pretty good (The Christmas Jones character is not very exciting though) I think he should be allowed to do another one if he wants to.
Some more original signature scenes would be awesome. The oily girl in QOS was okay but it obviously was a cheasy reference to Goldfinger. Come up with something new. Deaths don´t have to be violent and bloody. They can also be beautiful. Look at how Plenty O Toole died in Diamonds Are Forever. It is so perverted and I love it. Much better than all the torture porn. Stop trying to copy Jason Bourne. Come up with something new and remember that Bond is Bond and not John McClane or Rambo and shouldn´t get himself launched into space or drive invisible cars…
If you want to do some Ian Fleming stories (Which I hope) look at Quantum Of Solace. Nothing was used from it. The whole book of Moonraker is pretty much begging to be used for a movie. Of course it can´t be called Moonraker and the villain can´t be called Hugo Drax but apart from that – The bridge scene would be awesome for a movie. The whole bar shooting thing would also be nice. Could be cool to see Bond fight some nazi´s/Skinheads. They still exist you know.
Many cool elements from The Man With The Golden Gun are ready to be used. The Hildebrand Rarity was used a lot for Licence To Kill but it is so bloody awesome and there are so many nice elements left in it.
When are we going to see villains like: The SPang Brothers, Shatterhand, Ken Von Hammerstein or Mr. Sanguinetti?
Hope too see a great movie this time.

Some confusion in this posting. Noomi Rapace was in the original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. She is not in the new version with Daniel Craig.
