The long-awaited Adele theme song for Skyfall is here:
We like it, but then again, we like Adele. Share your thoughts in the comments.
MI6 has been contacted by insiders with a first look at the Adele “Let The Sky Fall” cover art. The news is not expected to break until Monday, but here it is!
Latino Review point out that they too can make the proposed cover in 10 minutes and thus speculate it is fan art. Make of this what you will…
According to the writer Roger Friedman over at Showbiz411, he has had an exclusive listen to part of Adele’s new title track for James Bond’s 23rd adventure: Skyfall.
Thanks to record industry sources, I got to hear a bit of the song. Readers of this column know we already broke the story of Adele singing the “Skyfall” theme a couple of times.
Part of the chorus of the song goes: “Let the sky fall/Let it crumble/We will stand tall/And face it all/together.”
The introductory lines, which follow a piano solo, are: “This is the end/Hold your breath and count to ten/Feel the Earth move and then/Hear my heart burst again.”
The long-running rumor that UK singer Adele will be singing the title theme for Skyfall has been reengaged by The Sun.
According to the press, Adele made a “secret” visit to Abbey Road studios, where the soundtrack for Skyfall is being recorded.
The singer that performed “You Know My Name” – the theme Daniel Craig’s Casino Royale - told the media recently that English singer Adele would be perfect for a Bond theme.
“She’s phenomenal and it’s nice, in a day and age where so many vocals are fixed by computers, that the biggest album of last year was somebody who sings for real. I would hate to see music become more mechanistic and less human, so her success has been great.”
Adele has been in and out of the media with rumours that she submitted a track to the Bond producers.
The five-time 007 composer David Arnold revealed in an interview that it was not – as many had assumed – the commitment to the Olympics that meant he was not hired to score 007′s forthcoming adventure in Skyfall.
Cultbox caught up with the musician and asked him about missing the cut this time around:
“My availability wasn’t an issue,” Arnold says. “[The film's director] Sam Mendes wanted to continue his working relationship with Thomas Newman.”
“I would hate to be a composer foisted upon a director if the director would rather have someone else and I have been lucky that the five directors who I’ve worked with on the Bond movies chose to work with me.
“You have to afford each director the same right and I’ve never expected to be asked back just because I’d done the films previously.”
Mendes and Thomas Newman have a long working relationship, so it is understandable that the director wanted his close colleague.
According to a tipster who contacted Bond23.net and claims to have access to a “reputable source close to the production”, Sam Mendes and Daniel Craig are eyeing former Oasis frontman Noel Gallagher.
“Noel’s newest solo album “Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds”,has been getting a lot of positive attention” our source suggests.
We have been unable to corroborate this with any other media or insiders.
UPDATE: The rocker posted to his blog recently: “A ‘source’ says, ‘Nothing has been signed or made official’! Of course it fuckin’ hasn’t! Who is this fucking source? Has he been on the sauce’? Bizarre indeed.”
